Michael, I think the line-up looks very impressive. While the Melbourne International Film Festival is Australia's premier film event, the Isabelle Huppert season is screening the types of films that I especially look out for among the 3-400 films screened each year.
This season should be a real treat for people with a similar taste in cinema.
Although I am more inclined to appreciate a festival that focuses on a single director than a single actor, it seems to me that Huppert is a good choice. I am a bit surprised that Godard's Passion (1982) is not on the bill. Maybe Huppert's just not prominant enough in the film, but that's one of Godard's later films that I actually liked - if that's the right word.
