The three main things to see here are:

Godard's Histoire(s) du cinema -- the most important cinematic document ever composed. An epic poem.

Films of Dreyer -- God is good, God is great, let us thank him for this plate. Ah men!!!

Films of Hawks -- Godard called him "the greatest of American artists." No more needs to be said.

I would also add that The Mother and the Whore, Keaton & Arbuckle shorts and State Legislature by Wiseman are also must sees.

In addition to the films/seasons listed by trentone, I would add the Desplechin, Wajda and Costa seasons as must-sees. It's the best CTEQ programme since I moved to Melbourne two years ago.

fritz land, carl dreyer, howard hawks... I'd feel compelled to see all of these...

Putting the calendar together in the above format, I looked up each film on IMDB. Reading stuff online as well as the Cinémathèque notes, it seemed to me that it's a pretty strong lineup. I'm looking forward to pretty much everything mentioned by each of you above. Hawks sounds great, but we have to wait almost a year for that season.
